Year nine students at St Paul's Anglican Grammar School recently welcomed several generations into their classrooms as part of their "celebrating families day."
To develop stronger generational ties to their heritage, students researched their own family histories.
They created an exhibition that displayed priceless family relics, and included citizenship certificates, flags, world war mementos, and a variety of baby and wedding photos.
The unit was a part of the year nine thinking and learning program delivered by St Paul's educators to prepare students for the senior school years by taking a multidisciplinary approach and encouraging students to reflect on their own learning.
The program allows students to explore their own place in the world, contribute to the community, and critically evaluate historical, religious, philosophical and social influences.
