A stolen vehicle was discovered on fire near Eastern Park in Warragul on Wednesday morning.
Police reported the vehicle had been linked to a theft in Simmental St, Drouin less than two hours earlier.
The gold Toyota Camry, with registration "QHR 285", was engulfed in flames when discovered in a carpark off Cambridge Drv at 5am.
The CFA attended to extinguish the fire.
Police said the vehicle was reported stolen during an aggravated burglary in Wantirna that night.
It was reportedly captured on CCTV in Simmental St during a theft at 3.45am.
Police said footage showed two males in their 30s approach a vehicle parked in a driveway. Perfume and $30 in cash were reported stolen from the vehicle.
A resident reportedly chased off the pair.
The first man was described as slim, wearing hi-vis jacket, black hoodie covering his head and Nike TN shoes.
The second man also was described as slim, wearing a black hat, grey hoodie, baggy grey pants and black shoes.
