Linda's unique landscapes at WAS Gallery
Gippsland resident Linda Shaw opens her exhibition of intriguing paintings at WAS Gallery in Warragul alongside her husband David who frames most of her pieces, daughter Mawrgan who made a speech to open the show and her fiance Jake who finally returned from Canada after two COVID years away. Their presence made the opening a special event for Linda.

Intriguing paintings from prolific artist Linda Shaw currently fill WAS Gallery in Warragul.
Linda's exhibition "A Search for Stillness" is now open until Saturday, July 16 and is the culmination of work undertaken throughout 2021.
The approach Linda takes with her artwork is unique.
"My abstract, intuitive landscapes are not based on, or seeking to represent, any one particular place," she explains. "Rather, the intention is to evoke a sense of place that is both universal and personal. I hope the viewer can experience a sense of place that is familiar yet unfamiliar; a visual echo of a memory not quite crystallised."
For many years, Linda taught art in Victorian secondary schools, primarily in the Sale region. She lives in Longford and her interest in teaching is matched by her own curiosity and desire to continue learning.
WAS Gallery is at 37 Latrobe Street, Warragul. It is open from 10am to 4pm Wednesday to Saturday. For further information, call 0428 513 905 or visit wasgallery.com.au
