Janette Pocklington, whose family links with Drouin trace back to her grandparents, is the latest inductee of Drouin Rotary Club.
Janette explained that her "carefree childhood" was spent on a dairy farm at Heath Hill.
She attended Drouin High School, where she met Robert Pocklington who she would marry some years later.
Her grandparents were Joe and Fairlie (nee Hunter) Davey who farmed in Weebar Rd on a property now a residential subdivision.
It includes street names of Davey Drive and Hunter Close in their honour.
After many years living in Melbourne, Robert and Janette Pocklington returned to Drouin in 2010 to be close to ageing parents and siblings.
Janette said she was proud to join Rotary because of its focus on service, family and fun. She added that from an early age she had enjoyed serving community, starting at age 19 as a youth leader and as a young mother serving on kindergarten, school and sports committees. She later assisted with Meals on Wheels.
