The Warragul and District Historical Society has a new puzzle available to purchase from its Queen St museum.
Created by Homegrown Design in Drouin, the 500-piece puzzle features a photograph of Warragul from 1889, taken from the top of the hill near Warragul Primary School.
Warragul and District Historical Society president Josephine Dickson said the idea of creating a puzzle came after seeing puzzles made for other historical societies.
"Most of them (puzzles from other historical societies) are in colour, but we've chosen this black and white photograph because it's one of the earliest photographs of Warragul," Ms Dickson explained.
While the photograph is from 1889, you'll still be able to spot some familiar buildings that still stand today, including Wesley of Warragul and the former Royal Hotel building, which is now La Passion cafe and restaurant.
Ms Dickson said the puzzle was a way for the historical society to generate income and raise awareness of its museum.
"The only way we get funding is through sales of books and puzzles," she said. "It's another way of advertising the museum."
Ms Dickson said the museum has four rooms of exhibits and more than 3000 photographs catalogued.
"Most of those have been scanned and are in our computer system for viewing," she added. "We have a wonderful repository of history through our photographs."
The puzzle is only available to purchase at the Warragul and District Historical Society museum for $49.50.
The museum is open every Thursday between 10am and 2pm and every second and fourth Sunday of the month from 2pm to 4pm.
