Warragul hosts triples

Warragul Bowling Club held its first tournament for the season on Sunday September 17 – the open triples.
26 teams of triples contested the event with players coming from Boolarra, Narre Warren, Trafalgar, Drouin, Clayton, Monbulk, Upwey/Tecoma, Mirboo North, Churchill, Neerim District, Mitcham, Longwarry, Dandenong Club and Warragul.
Three games of 12 ends were played to decide the winners of the day, on a perfect weather day for bowls.
Winners were the Drouin team of Necip Akarsu (s), Andre DeWalle and Ron Douthie with three wins and +19.
Runners up were the Warragul/Drouin team of Pat Hammond (s), Lynne Thomas and Ken Landman with three wins and +16.
Third place went to Warragul team Bill Clark (s), Lyn Morrison and Bernie McIntosh with three wins and +8.
Best game went to the Boolarra team of Jolene, Travis and Jess with 17 shots up.
