Service desk re-opens in Warragul

Face-to-face services returned to Warragul last week when Baw Baw Shire re-opened its customer service counter on Tuesday.
Closed in late 2021 in response to COVID restrictions, the in-person counter will operate within the West Gippsland Arts Centre on weekdays from 10am to 4pm.
"Although there has been a huge shift towards online customer service, especially in the wake of COVID, we know that many residents prefer face-to-face interactions with council and we believe it is important to offer that option," Baw Baw Shire mayor Annemarie McCabe said. "That's why we are so pleased to reopen our Warragul customer service functions with a new counter at the arts centre, in addition to existing customer service centre in Drouin."
Located next to the arts centre box-office, the counter will offer direct access to council's customer service staff for enquiries and payments.
"By providing in-person customer service centres in Drouin and Warragul, our two busiest community hubs, we are making it more accessible and convenient for our community to get in touch with us via their preferred method," Cr McCabe said.
"Whether that is online, over the phone or in person, I encourage our residents to explore the most suitable option available for their individual needs."
In addition to the customer service centres, residents can raise general enquiries and get in contact with council via live chat or online forms online at bawbawshire.vic.gov.au; via email to bawbaw@bawbawshire.vic.gov.au; using the "Snap Send Solve" mobile app; calling 5624 2411 or 1300 BAW BAW (1300 229 229); or via post enquiry to Baw Baw Shire Council, PO Box 304, Warragul 3820.
Residents are advised that some services, including pre-application planning permit meetings and "Meet the Mayor Mondays" sessions, will continue to operate exclusively from the Drouin customer service centre.
