About 90 positions are available in Gippsland for people to join Victoria's firefighting effort next summer.
They are among some 300 fixed term project firefighter positions available across the state to work with Forest Fire Management Victoria.
Applications close on July 31.
More information is available and applications can be lodged at ffm.vic.gov.au or be telephoning 136 186.
FFM's Sam Quigley said the jobs were a fantastic opportunity for people "from all walks of life who are physically fit and have a driver's licence to get out in the bush, protect Victoria from bushfires and help maintain public land".
They could be operating machinery one week and responding to an emergency the next, he said.
Minister for Environment and Climate Action Lily D'Ambrosio said the project firefighters would undertake a range of seasonal roles including general firefighting, fire support officers and rappel crews.
They would also be involved in emergency response activities, planned burning, pest and weed control, road maintenance and land management.
Ms D'Ambrosio said the positions offered tangible employment, training and pathway opportunities.
The project firefighters will be fully trained and work with experienced staff from a range of fire management agencies including the Country Fire Authority and Fire Rescue Victoria.
Victoria has more than 1000 frontline firefighters supported by 2000 permanent staff.
