Neerim vow to fight back
Neerim District bowler Stephen Halligan bowls in division six action on Saturday.

Neerim had one win on Saturday, following a successful Tuesday.
Division two: Neerim District lost to Morwell Club 67/100
Playing away on a heavy green, correct bowling technique and wearing the right footwear was key to success,
Neerim had the right shoes.
Angus McGillivray (skip),Neil "Gomez" Adams, Richard "Dicky" Kerr and Greg "007" Bond went down 15/20.
Peter "Rowdy" Throup (skip), Ray "Roscoe" Throup, John "El Presidente" Rochford and Russell Meehan were defeated by 18 shots.
Peter "Postie" Brooks (skip), Karren Sheers, Jim "Wombat" Fallon and Pat Fraser-Aurisch lost by 13 shots.
Shane "Shrek" Hogan (skip), Chris Hogan, Graeme Wingrove and Roger "The Dodger" Till had an excellent three-shot win.
For Shane's rink, it was a great return to form from the previous week.
No excuses can be made for a loss, but players missing with COVID, away on holidays over a long weekend and a couple of Collingwood supporters not seen since late September has reduced the club's chances. However, they have vowed to bounce back.
Division five: Neerim District (2) lost to Morwell (4) 57/64
Under very blustery conditions, two sides won on the last end. This was a credit to their determination.
Jim Schroeder (skip), Des Pelly, Gerald Winter and Tom Goodwin lost by 14 shots.
The skipper played many great shots to limit the damage.
George Rymer (skip), Ray Watts, Rob Park and Kay Cousins had a three-shot victory.
The game fluctuated throughout, with a great last end getting Neerim over the line.
Robert "Captain" Cook (skip), Thelma Schroeder, Bronny Throup and Roger Gouge had a four-shot victory.
Again, this game was very close all day. Thelma played a vintage drive on the last end to take out the Morwell shot bowl. This led to a five-shot end.
Division six: Neerim District (3) defeated Traralgon RSL/Yinnar 45/22
For the third week in a row, Neerim could only field three players in each team.
The club thanked the reclusive Colin McKay for filling in at the last moment to save the team from having to forfeit.
Neville "Nifty" Cousins (skip), Peter Nolan and Linda Chapple had a fantastic win by 18 shots.
Nifty has really settled into the skipper role.
Fish Halligan (skip), Colin McKay and Greg Chapple held on to win by one shot.
Midweek
A great turnaround in form saw Neerim registered a strong win in freezing and windy home conditions.
Division two: Neerim District defeated Traralgon (2) 70/47
Neerim won on two rinks, with a one-shot loss on the third rink.
Pat Fraser-Aurisch (skip), Jim "Bean Counter" Schroeder, Di Tame and Neville "Nifty" Cousins were the unlucky team to lose by one shot.
Chris Hogan (skip), Kay Cousins, John Rochford and Graeme Wingrove bounced back from a shocker to win by 19 shots.
Well done to Chris who was skipper in her first year of midweek pennant.
Karren "Click" Sheers (skip), Fish Halligan, Thelma Schroeder and Bronny Throup were outstanding to a five-shot win.
After a big Saturday game, Click's confidence from that was on show on Tuesday.
