Neerim bowls — Competing for the title of Neerim District mixed pairs champions are (from left) Angus McGillivray, Cookie Halligan, Gregg Chapple and Pat Fraser Aurisch. For the second consecutive year, Pat and Gregg took the win and title.

Neerim District bowlers had a good win in division four but its division two side had a loss in round seven.
Division two: Neerim District lost to Traralgon (2) 58/81
Neerim bowlers travelled to Traralgon and played indoors, with the home team securing a 23-shot win.
The best rink for Neerim were Glenn Joyner, Gregg Chapple, Angus McGillivray and Neil Adams.
The side is now sixth on the ladder.
Division four: Neerim District (2) defeated Yallourn North 99/65
Neerim bowlers played host to Yallourn North in damp, cool and overcast conditions.
They had a good win over the fourth placed team; three rinks to one, to earn 16 points.
Best for the home team were Linda Chapple, Bronwyn Throup, Roger Till and Russell Meehan with a 21-shot win.
Division four are eighth on the ladder.
Midweek
Both teams travelled to Drouin for round six on Tuesday. Whilst it's the club's shortest away trip, it's not considered the easiest.
Division two: Neerim District defeated Drouin (2) 63/60
In division two, it came down to the last end in the three matches. The result was Neerim winning a very enjoyable and tight contest by three shots.
Winning 14 of the 16 points on offer, the win propelled Neerim into fourth place on the ladder.
Neerim's best rink was Heather Guppy, Linda Chapple, John Rochford and Karren Sheers.
The side will play Trafalgar at Neerim South today.
Division five: Neerim District (2) lost to Drouin (4) 30/40
Drawing one rink and losing the other, Neerim had a 10-shot loss against the home side.
Best rink for Neerim was Stephen Halligan, Pamela Majak, Roger Till and Graeme Wingrove.
Division five remain in fourth place on the ladder. They will play Morwell today at Neerim.
Mixed pairs final
The club's mixed pairs final was played Friday afternoon/evening.
The final featured Angus McGillivray and Cookie Halligan versus Pat Fraser Aurisch and Gregg Chapple.
Pat and Gregg got away to an early lead but were hauled in and overtaken by Angus and Cookie who, after 10 ends, had a three-shot lead. The match then took a turn.
Pat and Gregg came home strongly - as they had done in the previous three matches they played - to claim their second successive club mixed pairs win.
