Goals in double figures for Bambridge and Urie
3 min read

Lachlan Bambridge and Chris Urie put on a show as Neerim-Neerim South consolidated their spot on top of the Ellinbank District ladder in round three.
Try as they might to compete with the Cats, the Bombers with a young team led by the experience of Robert Campbell and Nick Carrigy just found the class divide to the top side too much.
Perfect conditions for football helped Neerim-Neerim South to a big percentage boost, crushing the visitor 39-22 (256) to 2-5 (17).
With the Cats kicking away early in the piece, the entertaining side show proved to be the race between Bambridge and Urie to see who would first register their 10th goal for the afternoon.
Any suggestions from the local radio broadcast that the home side could consider resting them later in the game, despite a week off this week, went out the window as the two key forwards set about filling their boots.

Tyssen Morrow kicked the first for the Cats from the top of the goal square, but Bambridge and Urie would soon join the act.
Nick Caddy would set up many attacks from half back and through the midfield throughout the day, and his first effort was a neat pass to find Bambridge from 45 metres for his first.
Urie then scored the easiest of goals from the square before adding his second from a lace out pass.
Luke Kinder broke the battle with a mark and goal, before Bambridge marked in space on the siren to even the ledger with Urie and make it eight first quarter goals for the Cats.
The Bombers held firm to begin the second term, Munashe Munjoma showing some classy skills in the midfield, but unfortunately couldn't find the reward on the scoreboard.
Urie showed his balance and class to kick one straight through the middle from across his body and his strength was on show soon after, holding front position to add another.
His goals were truncated by a long shot from Josh Morrison before the Bombers finally found their first through Carrigy.
The Cats would respond through a string of goals from Urie and Bambridge, Urie beginning the chain by marking on the lead to register his fifth.
A nice evade from Nathan Bayne and lead up work from Rhys George gave Bambridge his next goal. Urie then converted from his left for his sixth before Bambridge took a strong mark floating across the pack for his seventh.

A classy pick up from Campbell gave the Bombers their second goal but the joy would be short lived.
The Cats were simply ruthless, with Kody Wilson demonstrating his ability to run both ways despite the margin ballooning out beyond 100 points.
Bambridge added to his highlight reel with a running left foot snap and a big mark as the Cats went into half time leading 18-11 to 2-2.
Isaac Fuller and Declan Bagut began to come into the game for the Cats in the second half, as Urie started to come under more attention from the Bombers defence.
Korey Carrison was doing his level best to try and break the press, a highlight being a torpedo from defence that carried to the middle of the ground.
The extra attention to Urie proved to no avail as he marked just one metre from the line to register his ninth.
With a 10th goal on offer, Urie put team first to pass over the top for the easiest of goals to Bambridge.
Bambridge would score the next two goals to bring up his 10th before providing shepherd for a long goal from Fuller as the Cats headed into the final change leading 29-16 to 2-5.
The pain would continue for the Bombers in the final term as Urie would soon have his 10th, converting a snap across his body to begin another 10 goal term for the Cats.
Bambridge would finish with 13 goals and Urie 12 to round out the big win, Morrow chipping in with four and Kinder three.
