Baw Baw Shire has issued a reminder that flammable liquids, e-waste and batteries don't belong in household bins after a fire on a garbage truck at Jindivick.

Incorrect items in rubbish is believed to have caused a fire on a garbage truck at Jindivick recently.
The incident caused Baw Baw Shire to issue a reminder that flammable liquids, e-waste and batteries don't belong in household bins.
It might seem harmless to simply throw these items in the bin, but the consequences of disposing of them incorrectly can be devastating, the shire said.
The shire thanked local CFA members and clean-up crew for their help in dealing with the fire.
