Entries open for art show
Online entries for the 2026 Leongatha Art and Photography Show are now open and artists and photographers are encouraged to get in quick before the cutoff at 6am on Friday December 5.
Now celebrating more than 49 years, the Leongatha Art and Photography Show has become a cornerstone of artistic expression in the Gippsland region.
Organised by the Leongatha Rotary Club, the art show has evolved into a 21-day summer showcase of creativity, attracting more than 700 entries annually from local, Victorian, and interstate artists across sixteen award categories.
Artists can enter via the official website at www.leonartshow.com.au. Links to the online entry form and conditions of entry can be found on the entry submission page.
The exhibition will feature a vibrant mix of mediums, from painting and photography to sections dedicated to young artists, all abilities entrants, and innovative 3D works.
Generously supported by long-standing sponsors, the 2026 Show will award more than $8900 in prizes and awards, continuing a proud tradition of celebrating and supporting artistic excellence.
Drawing thousands of visitors each year, the show has become a highlight of South Gippsland's summer calendar. This year's show saw one in five attendees travel from Melbourne, with visitors also arriving from across Australia, Tasmania, and abroad.
The event will be hosted in the historic Leongatha Memorial Hall, located on the corner of McCartin Street and Michael Place. The venue is ideally positioned to welcome art lovers from all over Gippsland.
Proceeds from art sales commissions, entry fees, and raffles directly fund the Rotary Club of Leongatha's local, national, and international humanitarian projects.
As part of Rotary International and the Rotary Foundation, the club remains committed to fostering positive change and community development.
