Round four of the West Gippsland Football Netball League sees local sides Bunyip and Garfield given tough assignments, while Warragul Industrials will aim to even their ledger.
Dalyston vs Bunyip
Following a disappointing outing last week, Bunyip will be looking to bounce back against Dalyston.
The rebuilding Bulldogs looked out of their depth against Warragul Industrials in round three as they were thumped by 117 points.
The week before they were beaten by 57 points at Garfield, with 2023 currently looking like it's going to be a tough year for the proud club.
They travel to Dalyston this week, which in previous years would have been a happy hunting ground for the Bulldogs. This year may be a different proposition.
The Magpies, after a disastrous round one performance, have reeled off two wins in a row, including an 81-point dismantling of Korumburra-Bena.
They're now aiming for their third win in a row and, should they claim it, it will be the first time since 2017 that they have won more than two games.
Blake Carew looms as a point of difference here after a big nine-goal outing last week for Dalyston.
Dalyston will enter this one confident, while Bunyip will be determined to right the wrongs of the past two weeks.
Garfield vs Inverloch-Kongwak
Garfield were thoroughly dismantled last week and things don't get any easier as they welcome the only undefeated side in the competition to their home.
The Stars, following a positive first two rounds, couldn't get anything going against Nar Nar Goon, kicking just two goals.
It was reminiscent of some of their early performances last season, where they just looked a step below most of the other teams in the league.
Redemption is going to be tough, however, with the form Inverloch-Kongwak is in.
The Sea Eagles have positioned themselves nicely at the top of the ladder. Having pulled off one of the toughest assignments in footy by knocking off Phillip Island at Cowes two weeks ago, suddenly they look the team to beat.
They only got stronger last week as they welcomed likely AFL top 10 draft pick Archer Reid into the side, where he showed his talent with six goals.
No doubt they'll be eyeing this game off as another potential percentage booster, and if Garfield can't find their earlier form then they'll struggle to stop them.
Warragul Industrials vs Korumburra-Bena
Fresh off their first win of the year, Warragul Industrials will look to keep rolling against Korumburra-Bena.
The Dusties copped what would have to be the most brutal draw imaginable in their first two rounds, being forced to play both of last season's grand finalists back-to-back.
They were hardly embarrassed by either performance, especially against Tooradin-Dalmore, but they couldn't quite find a win in either.
It meant last week's dominant display against Bunyip was just the tonic they needed.
The Dusties were untouchable against their more inexperienced opponents, a whirlwind seven goal performance from Mason McGarrity the standout.
And they'll be liking their chances here against Korumburra-Bena.
The Giants have similarly began their year with the one win, also against Bunyip. But, unlike the Dusties, their victory was hard fought, and also unlike the Dusties, their losses have been sizeable.
Early indications point towards them having another year of development. Given the Dusties have aspirations of another finals campaign, a big Warragul win seems to be on the cards.
Other games
Phillip Island enters their clash with Nar Nar Goon full of confidence.
The Bulldogs were back to their best in last week's grand final rematch as they wreaked their revenge on Tooradin-Dalmore, showing they're still one of the supreme teams.
The Goon enter with their own form in a good place, having won their last two games by 88 and 108 points respectively.
This won't be such an easy kill for them though, and the result will tell us a bit about where they currently sit in the premiership race.
Koo wee rup hosts Kilcunda Bass as they search for their second win.
The Demons are difficult to read at the moment.
A big win over Dalyston was shortly followed by a terrible loss to Nar Nar Goon, with a competitive but not-quite-good-enough showing against Nar Nar Goon last week rounding out their results.
Kilcunda Bass are a little more simple to understand, the Panthers currently the only side other than Bunyip yet to taste victory.
The Panthers looked solid enough in their first two matches, but they were blown out of the water against Inverloch-Kongwak last week.
Both teams will see this as winnable.
Cora Lynn and Tooradin-Dalmore have the bye.
