Trafalgar Lions Club held its annual changeover dinner where president David Koschade handed over the reins to Lion Trevor Byrne.
In his annual report, David noted the past year had seen a return to relatively normal operations after a couple of years of disruption due to COVID.
Trafalgar Lions members have conducted quite a few barbecues with two elections, the primary school Festival on the Lawn, kindergarten Christmas party, Andrews House Christmas barbecue, Australia Day and Anzac Day breakfasts and monthly sausage sizzles at IGA.
Unfortunately the club had to cancel the Swap Meet for a third year, not because of COVID but because the ground was too soft due to the amount of rain in the weeks prior to the event. Fortunately, this area didn't have the flooding that many other areas of the eastern states suffered so the club was able to assist them with a $6000 donation to the flood appeal.
Firewood sales have been going well again this winter as they did last and continues to be the club's best income earner, but requires consistent work.
Various club activities throughout the year enabled the Trafalgar Lions to donate more than $30,000 to local organisations.
