Dressed in oversized uniforms and wearing their too-big backpacks, thousands of children across West Gippsland headed to school for the first time last week. Daisy Hayward and Lachie Allen were excited to start foundation at St Ita's Catholic Primary School in Drouin. With lunchboxes filled with yummy snacks like hot cross buns and fresh fruit, Lachie and Daisy spent their first day making new friends, learning new games and meeting their teachers. Lachie said he liked his teacher a lot, and Daisy can't wait to learn how to read.
