Erica and District Fire Brigade has warned of the dangers of driving on rural roads after this vehicle struck a tree near Coopers Creek last week. The 29-year-old driver was able to free himself from the wreckage.

A local fire brigade has shared a warning for rural road drivers after attending a single-car collision near Coopers Creek on Monday, May 26.
Erica and District Fire Brigade reported the vehicle struck a tree on Tyers-Walhalla Rd near the intersection of Coopers Creek Rd just before 8am.
The driver, a 29-year-old man not from the local area, was able to free himself from the vehicle. He was transported to hospital with upper-body injuries.
The brigade attended the collision along with SES, police and paramedics.
On its social media, the brigade said the collision was a timely reminder to drive to the conditions.
"Rural roads can be dangerous and deadly and this incident could have had a different outcome had it not of been for pure luck," they said.
