An Audi stolen from a Warragul home last week was used in a number of petrol drive-offs in West Gippsland and the Latrobe Valley before being recovered by police.
The unlocked white Audi A4 was stolen from North Rd overnight on Monday night.
Police said the vehicle was used in petrol thefts at three service stations including the Warragul BP in Alfred St at 2.25am, a Morwell service station at 3.50am and the Yarragon service station at 7am.
Witnesses at Yarragon told police there were three to four occupants in the vehicle. A male passenger wearing a black jacket, black pants, white thongs and a Chicago Bulls hoodie got out of the vehicle to use the petrol bowser before leaving without paying.
