Vehicle on fire

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a vehicle fire on Sunday, June 18.
The fire is believed to have occurred between 7am and 7.30am in Drouin-Korumburra Rd, Athlone.
Police said a witness assisted a man who was driving a Nissan Navara ute after the ute collided with a guard rail.
The witness told police they had assisted the person in towing the vehicle off the road before they were offered money by the driver to not report the incident.
Later in the morning, police received a series of calls about a vehicle fire.
Emergency services attended the scene to contain the blaze.
The investigation remains ongoing.
