Two exhibitions have launched at the WAS Gallery already this year.
"A Play on Paper" by Helen Reeves and "My Happy Place" by Jessie McLennan opened Saturday, January 14.
Reeves' exhibition is a collection of collages featuring small, intricate pieces of paper, paint and thread and McLennan has a range of works including sculpture, painting and collography.
"I create small-scale works that invite closer viewing. Making art in a series or grid encourages the viewer to move from one image to another and back again," Reeves said.
While McLennan said she primarily identifies as a sculptor, working figurately with clay.
"I am also a printmaker, painter and illustrator, often viewing my drawing, printing, painting and sculpture as separate aspects of my creative self," she said.
On Saturday, the shows were opened with a large crowd of locals as well as Melbourne and interstate visitors.
WAS Gallery is at 37 Latrobe Street, Warragul. Opening hours are Wednesday to Saturday 10am to 4pm.
The two exhibitions are open until March 11 2023.
