The Wahalla Cricket Club took to social media on Thursday to express "dismay, sadness and disbelief" after its vintage scoreboard was stolen.
Club members had put "a lot of work into restoring the sign", which had previously been in storage.
It was the first time the scoreboard had been used in years.
On Facebook, club members appealed to those responsible, writing: "it is probably in a man cave somewhere so please share the hell out of this with a hope of getting it back. If someone has this and has a conscience return it with no questions asked please."
