There's nothing quite like the smell of fresh pine to bring the spirit of Christmas into your home.
Warragul Rotary club members have had a number of working bees at the Gulwarra Heights Cemetery plantation and this year's trees are now looking a treat.
Community members can visit the plantation and choose the size of tree that best suits their homes and using the tree stands makes it easy to set the trees up ready for decoration. All trees, irrespective of size are $50 and stands are $35.
The Warragul Rotary Christmas trees project is very much a community activity with trees available at a reasonable price and all profits going back into a range of Rotary supported community projects.
The club began growing Christmas trees in 1979 and since then has sold more than 20,000 trees.
Christmas trees will be available for sale from this Friday, December 1 in Warragul at the usual places, Mobil Warragul in Brandy Creek Rd (Thursday to Sunday) and Rowes Nursery in Landsborough Rd (normal opening hours).
"Why not take the kids up to the plantation and choose your own tree?" suggested club president Chris Drenen. "Rotarians will be on hand to help you saw and load your tree."
The Christmas tree plantation is in Burke Rd (next to the Gulwarra Heights Cemetery). Plantation sales are on Saturdays and Sundays (10am to 4pm).
