Police believe the group, captured on CCTV trying to open vehicles, may be involved in a series of six thefts.
One witness reported seeing a group of four boys, one wearing a red jacket and one travelling on an electric scooter, running away from a vehicle in Kent St at about 4.10am on Sunday.
The victim had left keys in the front door, which were used to open the vehicle. A wallet was reported stolen.
Another witness reported two boys aged between 12 and 14-years-old accessed an unlocked vehicle in Emberwood Rd, Warragul.
The theft occurred at about 1am on Sunday, with a wallet and garage remote reported stolen.
A wallet was reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle in Roseleigh St at about 10.30pm on Saturday. A bank card from the wallet was later used at Burgers and Brews in Smith St at 2.30am.
A wallet was reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle in Watt St about 7.30pm in Warragul. The empty wallet was later recovered from behind Warragul Scout Hall in Bowen St.
Burton St also was hit, with a wallet reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle between 8.30pm on Saturday and 10am on Sunday.
The empty wallet was found in a neighbour's letterbox.
Also linked is a theft of cash from a handbag in an unlocked vehicle in Pettit St.
Police are again urging residents to lock vehicles to deter opportunistic thefts.
