Residents' calls for a greater police presence at Lang Lang have been ignored, according to Member for Eastern Victoria Melina Bath.
Ms Bath questioned Minister for Police and Community Safety Anthony Carbines in parliament after previously visiting the town and hearing residents' concerns about public safety in the town.
She said Lang Lang residents wanted more police presence in the town and government funding for CCTV system installations to deter anti-social behaviour.

However, Ms Bath said the minister's response was that "Victoria Police will deploy additional resources including specialist units such as highway patrol to Cardinia (shire) as required to respond to planned events and emerging trends."
She said concerned community members had instigated an e-petition that will be tabled in state parliament later this year.
How much more of an "emerging trend" does the government need before it acts when statistics reveal offences have increased 174 per cent over the past nine years under the current government, she said.
"Those statistics support community concerns".
Ms Bath said Mr Carbines' claim that Lang Lang was well supported by a police station one hour's drive away and deployment of a mobile CCTV trailer "a few times a year" was problematic.
