No snow but play underway

A lift is turning and snow play is underway as Mt Baw Baw celebrates the official start of the snow season.
Mt Baw Baw spokesperson Sally Brook said all 400 beds at the alpine resort were full for the long weekend.
Whilst the natural snowfall didn't arrive for the traditional opening, Ms Brook said the resort's snow making meant one lift was open, lessons underway and snow play on offer.
However, toboggan passes had to be refunded due to lack of snow coverage.
Ms Brook said the next few weeks offered "a great chance to play in the snow", or visitors could stay off the snow and enjoy live music, dingo walks and the cafes.
With most snow falling from late June to August, the resort is hoping for a bumper year of snow activities for visitors.
