Australian music icon Kate Ceberano will perform at the West Gippsland Arts Centre as part of her huge COVID catch-up tour on Friday, June 24 at 7.30pm.
Kate is looking forward to returning to Warragul to catch-up with friends and fans "after a spate of nothing".
With a full band behind her, Kate says "I major in live performance".
"I don't love recording," she said. "I was built on the stage. Every part of me is fortified by the stage and human connection."
After missing these connections during COVID isolation in Victoria, Kate is now in the midst of her "Sweet Inspiration" tour performing four to five gigs per week.
Kate's new show incorporates all her hits plus some songs from recent album "Sweet Inspiration". Special guests at the Warragul show is Jess Fairlie.
Her 28th album, which was recorded live and completed in just three days, debuted in the top five on the ARIA charts, making her just one of a handful of artists to have achieved Top 10 ARIA albums over five decades. AC/DC, Kylie Minogue and Midnight Oil are the other enduring acts to achieve this feat.
"It was never meant to be, so we were thrilled, says Kate of the album.
Kate says her career represents four decades of being four different people, from serious singer/songwriter to new mum, and everything in between.
A champion of women in music, Kate is thrilled to be joined onstage by several young and talented female musicians.
"I've never been happier with this band," she said.
Tickets to see Kate Ceberano at the West Gippsland Arts Centre are $63.90.
