Drouin won four games against Morwell in wet conditions at Drouin on Saturday.
A grade: Drouin 47 defeated Morwell 37
Playing on a "wet track", Drouin struggled to use their speed. Indeed, all players found staying upright a challenge at times.
Luckily, the Hawks were able to win each quarter by a goal or three. This enabled them to push away at Morwell through the game.
In the midcourt, Lucy McKellar applied relentless pressure on her player, not letting them get any easy feeds into the ring. April Bethune was integral in defence too, positioning and using her body for both rebounds, intercepts and tight work in the ring with Kym Diston.
Heading into the last few rounds, Drouin face off against Sale and then top of the ladder Moe. It will be a great opportunity to see the team work hard and use their speed.
Awards: Lucy McKellar and April Bethune.
B grade: Drouin 41 defeated Morwell 36
It was a difficult day to get momentum and traction on the courts, but the B grade girls finished strong.
After a fairly even first quarter, the Hawks let Morwell get out to a four-goal lead. They then cut it back and chasing goals.
An epic third quarter had Brooke De Riter, Reagan Joyce and Brydie Cunningham shoot up 12 goals to Morwell's five; closing the gap and gaining a lead. As the rain poured down, the team adjusted and stuck to the game plan, showing why they are top of the ladder.
Matilda Carroll, running in centre, was integral to keeping the ball moving in the wet and applying pressure on all Morwell players.
In defence, Lainey Downey was a force to be seen, showing her athleticism both inside and out of the ring.
However, Morwell did give the team a scare, so there will be plenty to work on heading into the last rounds.
Awards: Matilda Carroll and Lainey Downey.
C grade: Drouin 31 lost to Morwell 36
Having drawn in their last encounter, the Hawks were unable to secure the win.
As a result, Morwell shifts to first on the ladder and Drouin drop to second.
Defensively, the Hawks were great. They worked really hard as a unit to turn ball over, but just didn't convert enough of those turnovers into goals.
A slow start in the second quarter saw the Hawks go down by five goals, and they just couldn't make up the margin. All the other quarters were a draw, showing how tough a contest it was in the wet.
The Hawks know there is plenty of room for improvement coming into the last rounds of the season.
Awards: Grace Henderson, Kelly McMillan and Jess Murray.
17 and under: Drouin 48 defeated Morwell 32
The 17s were back on the winners' list after a great display of netball, with a number of combinations in action.
Jasmine Norton had an outstanding game in goal keeper, providing the team with many extra scoring opportunities.
Bella Tangipo had a great game through wing attack and goal attack. Her work rate was outstanding, both in attack and transition defence.
Overall, a great day for the team.
Awards: Jasmine Norton and Bella Tangipo.
15 and under: Drouin 28 lost to Morwell 30
The Hawks headed into the game knowing it was an important one to win if they wish to sneak into the top five.
Unfortunately, it was not their day and they couldn't come away with the four points.
Defenders Emmy Kneebone and Chloe Walsh worked hard and got plenty of turnovers to keep the Hawks in the game.
However, pressure from Morwell's defenders and some unforced errors in attack made it hard for the girls to get enough momentum to get the lead.
Awards: Chloe Walsh and Emmy Kneebone.
13 and under: Drouin 41 defeated Maffra 15
It was a brisk Saturday morning and an amazing team effort.
The girls have been working on second efforts and wanting the ball when its loose, and that paid off in this game.
Any loose ball saw the girls come to get it and there was always a back up behind.
The defensive pressure down the court was amazing, allowing others to get intercepts. The dives to the ball needed tweaking, but the whole team lifted and got it done.
Awards: Chloe Gargan, Tilly Kensley and Nancy Carroll.
