Dance workshop at WGAC

Local youths will have the opportunity to participate in a four-day dance workshop in early July.
From Sunday, July 2 to Wednesday, July 5, Transit Regional Creative Project are offering young people aged 12 to 25 the opportunity to let their creative streak shine.
Participants will work with leading Australian choreographers and will create an original 20-minute dance work on their stories.
One $100 ticket provides participants access to all four days of the workshop, which culminates in a performance at the West Gippsland Arts Centre on the final day, alongside a performance of 'Opus' by Transit Dance.
In 'Opus' gritty, heavy, rough and primitive movement will be paired with classic, contemporary and balletic lines - creating a captivating performance.
'Opus' was created by emerging choreographer and Transit Dance Associate Director, Jayden Hicks.
Hicks was born and raised in Gippsland and has worked with Melbourne Ballet Company, Vertical Shadows, Collaboration the Project, Quirky Productions, Rickstix and Stage Art.
Workshops run from 10am to 4pm each day and the performance will be held at 7pm on Wednesday, July 5.
Tickets to the workshop and final performance can be purchased at wgac.com.au
