Councillors fill vacancies

Two committee positions left vacant by the resignation of former Baw Baw Shire councillor Joe Gauci have been filled.
Cr Darren Wallace will be a councillor representative on the CEO Employment and Remuneration Committee and Cr Tricia Jones on the Early Years Advisory Committee.
The appointments were unanimously endorsed by their fellow councillors at a recent council meeting.
Cr Danny Goss, who sits on both committees, said Crs Wallace and Jones would bring vital experience to the roles.
"I'm very, very happy those two vacancies have been filled and we can move on now with the good work those two groups are doing," Cr Goss said.
Of Cr Jones' appointment, Cr Goss said, "I know you've been on it before and I know you'll do a great job".
Cr Wallace formally accepted and said he was looking forward to starting in the role.
"I haven't sat on that committee yet, so I look forward to learning some new things," Cr Wallace said. "Keeping our ceo in check and making sure he is ticking all the right boxes."
