In celebration of her time working in Gippsland, talented local artist Colleen Bright is holding one last exhibition before closing her Gippsland studio.
Art enthusiasts and collectors alike will have the opportunity to visit Colleen's Neerim South studio this weekend and purchase from her diverse collection of work.
Having studied art at RMIT university and developed her skills over time, Collen's artwork is not limited to one genre, featuring everything from pottery to paintings.
Colleen is known for her innovative approach to her work and her exceptional craftmanship. Her position as an artist and a teacher has positioned Colleen as a prominent figure in the art community and the Gippsland region.
Throughout her career, Colleen has received prestigious awards for her creations, including the Cuthbertson Award for best exhibit in show and the Jindivick Sculpture Prize.
Some of the works displayed in this weekend's exhibition include pottery, mosaics, paintings and sculptures, large and small. Additionally, a selection of quirky, yet serious gourd creations will be on offer. Artists are encouraged to attend the exhibition and take up the opportunity to secure some of Colleen's materials.
Despite leaving the Gippsland art scene, Colleen's passion for art remains. Joining the vibrant Melbourne arts community, Colleen intends to narrow her focus to smaller art formats and delve deeper into the intricacies of each piece.
Colleen Bright's farewell exhibition will be held at 1699 Main Rd, Neerim South between 10am and 4pm this Saturday and Sunday.
