Childcare plans

Approval is being sought for another new childcare centre to be built in Drouin.
A planning application has been lodged with Baw Baw Shire Council for the centre at 16 South Rd.
It follows council approval in August for a new childcare centre catering for up to 58 children to be built at 27 Main Neerim Rd, Drouin.
There are already several childcare centres in the town and throughout the shire the council states there are 12 licenced long day care services and two family day care providers.
However, some families are still struggling to find places for their children.
The South Rd, Drouin, proposal is for a centre that would accommodate 88 children on a wedge-shaped block of 2181 square metres located 450 metres south of the town's commercial centre and currently containing a house that would be demolished.
