A bleeding man allegedly entered a Warragul house on Sunday morning.
Police allege the aggravated burglary occurred at a Korumburra-Warragul Rd address at 4.48am.
The residents reported a man entered through a side door and took his shoes off. Blood was located in a nearby sink.
It is believed the man walked through the house and into a bedroom where the victims were sleeping.
Police allege he turned on the bedroom light, saw the victims and said "I'm sorry".
He then exited through the front of the house via a garage.
The victims allege the man smelt of alcohol and nothing was stolen.
He was described as Caucasian, 16 to 18-years-old, skinny build, no facial hair and wearing a cream jumper with writing on the back and white shoes.
