Alleged assault in public park

A woman and her four-year-old niece were allegedly assaulted at a Warragul park on Saturday.
Police said the pair were at the public park in Normanby St, near the woman's home, when she observed two teenage girls using obscene language at about 1pm.
The woman told police she asked the two youths to stop using the language, and they left the park.
The youths allegedly returned to the park with four other teenage girls and a 14-year-old boy.
Police allege the victim and her niece began to leave the park, and were walking towards their home when they were attacked from behind by the boy.
It is alleged two punches made contact with the woman's face, and a third missed and instead hit the four-year-old in the face.
Police said the woman yelled at the boy to stop and was surrounded by the six teenage girls.
Police allege the assault continued and the woman's mother emerged from their nearby home when she heard her daughter yelling.
She also was approached by the teenage boy and allegedly assaulted.
The three victims returned to their home. Police were contacted and later arrested a 14-year-old Warragul boy.
He was been bailed to appear at Children's Court.
Police are continuing investigations.
