VEC workers needed

The Victorian Electoral Commission is still seeking casual staff to work in this November's state election.
Anyone over the age of 18 who is an Australian citizen or permanent resident, or holds a current work visa, is eligible to apply to work with the VEC for one day or up to four weeks in a variety of roles.
Voting centres and early voting centres will be located across the state, with people being encouraged to apply for election work anywhere in Victoria.
Deputy Electoral Commissioner Dana Fleming said that prior experience was not needed, as training would be provided. She also said that election casuals will receive "competitive" pay.
Ms Fleming in particular encouraged applications from groups "under-represented at elections."
"This includes people from Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander communities, people with a disability, people who speak multiple languages including English, people without secure housing, or people aged 18 to 30."
People interested in working at the election can register their interest at vec.vic.gov.au/workatelections
