A visit to Old Gippstown at Moe gave some district grade two students some lessons in what school, and life generally, was like for their grandparents and great grandparents.
The students from St Paul's Anglican Grammar School at Warragul found the antique wooden desks and seats in the classroom a lot less comfortable than today's school furniture and were able to discover who students in past eras learned from a chalkboard before technology made its was into teaching and learning.
Playing games also took a lot more effort in their forebears times.
The tried their hands at playing ten pin bowling, skittles and Climb the Bear with handmade equipment a new challenge before discovery some "olden days" lovcations such as a general store, cinema and blacksmith's shop with a ride around the historical village on a old fire truck one of the highlights of the day.
