Ellinbank have emerged among the contenders, with a strong second half helping the Eagles stun the previously undefeated Lang Lang at home.
With spearhead Marc Holt failing to get up from a calf injury last week and livewire Chaise Jordan kept quiet, the Eagles were able to secure the result 11-13 (79) to 8-7 (55).
It was the Tigers who burst out of the blocks and looking very much like the well-drilled side of previous weeks.
They kicked the first four goals of the match coming through Lachlan Barwick, Cameron Brown, Jordan and Brett Kirkham.
Ellinbank then got their game going with a late goal to Jack Champion and consecutive goals to Cambell Jolly to begin the second quarter drawing them within two points.
Ryan Atherton put the Eagles ahead as it approached time on before Jordan's second brought the margin to a solitary point at half time.
Barwick scored early in the third term as the lead changed hands again before Ellinbank made their move.
Logan Joyce and Jolly scored mid-way through the term to regain the lead, Jolly going on a charge again with two more goals as it approached time on.
Eagles captain Bryce Joyce went forward again and capped the quarter with a goal, extending the lead to 22 at the final change.
Kyle Van der Pluym scored the important first goal for the Tigers early in the final term to draw within 16-points and give them some hope.
But Ellinbank were able to steady, Jolly putting through his sixth at the five-minute mark to make any Tiger come back difficult.
The Eagles were able to hold firm from there, conceding a goal to Dylan Gallasch at the 12-minute mark but responding through Anthony Battista three minutes later.
Jolly's six goals earnt him best afield honours with Bryce Joyce, Michael Ablett, Brad Wolfe, Ayden Clarke and Damien Lawrence also prominent.
Leading Lang Lang's competitive first half effort were Gallasch, Joseph Dalgleish, Cameron and Josh Brown, Van der pluym and Kaden Finlay smith.
