Don't miss the garbo

Few people can honestly say they haven't forgotten to put out the garbage, which bins go out on what day or have had to rush to put out the bins when they hear the garbage truck coming along the street.
Even Baw Baw Shire mayor Annemarie McCabe admits to having been guilty.
Cr McCabe has not wasted any time downloading a new app the shire has set up and is urging other residents to download it from either the iPhone or Android app stores.
Titled "Waste App" it enables people to set reminders for bin nights, provides details about collection schedules and recycling information, and tips about waste, its impacts and how to reduce environmental impacts.
The new app also takes the thinking away from what goes in which bin with an A-Z guide that tells where many common household items belong when no longer needed, Cr McCabe said.
There is information available about local transfer stations, their locations and opening hours as well as drop-off locations for the container deposit scheme.
As a result of introducing Waste App council will move away from bulk mailing out of waste booklets and bin collection calendars.
The app can be downloaded by visiting https://www.bawbawshire.vic.gov.au/Waste App
