Lock all vehicles and houses - including back doors - is the message from local police.
It comes after two vastly different burglaries in Drouin recently.
The first incident in Lindman St resulted in a vehicle being stolen overnight on Sunday.
Police allege the house was locked but a back door had been mistakenly left open.
They reported the door was used to gain entry and vehicle keys were stolen along with a 2014 yellow Falcon sedan.
Police recovered the vehicle in Morwell yesterday morning.
In a second incident, police allege two men with face coverings attempted to gain entry to a house in Royal Pines Drv on Sunday, March 24.
After pulling up in a light coloured SUV at about 4am, the two men attempted to gain entry to two vehicles parked in the front yard as well as the front door.
All three were locked and nothing was damaged or stolen.
