Carrots were required instead of the usual fire equipment when Darnum Ellinbank Fire Brigade attended a call out on Thursday morning.
It wasn't the Easter Bunny but a horse stuck down an embankment on Darnum-Allambee Rd.
After digging out an exit path, the fire brigade said carrots and apples were used to entice the horse back to solid ground with the help of its owner.
The fire brigade said not all call-outs are to fires and some are about helping the community. They reported the horse is now happily back in its paddock.
