Services to mark World Day of Prayer will be held in a number of West Gippsland towns on Friday.
The day is celebrated on the first Friday of March each year to hear the thoughts of women from all parts of the world with their hopes concerns and prayers.
An ecumenical group of Palestinian Christian Women responded to an invitation to write this year's program with their theme "I beg you ...bear with one another in love" despite all difficulties and oppression, based on Ephesians 4:1-7.
District services on Friday will be at:-
Warragul - Uniting Church at 10am. Refreshments to follow.
Bunyip - Uniting Church, 10.30am. Light luncheon, people asked to bring a plate to share.
Yarragon-Trafalgar - at Uniting Church Yarragon at 10.30am with morning tea.
Neerim South - St John's Co-operating Parish at 11am followed by a light lunch.
A service will be held at Drouin on Sunday, March 3, at Drouin Secondary College's Moondah Centre starting at 2pm with refreshments following the service.
The Palestinian women that have written this year's worship service invite all peoples across the world to pray for peace, justice and freedom of religion and movement.
They specifically call for prayers for women, refugees, those experiencing homelessness and those that are sick, dying or grieving.
The women also ask for confessions to the collective role in causing the climate crisis and the commit to repairing what has been destroyed.
Finally, they will call on everyone - the global church - to unite in treating all people with justice and love.
