Gippsland enjoyed a bout of pro-am fever last week as the Garfield, Trafalgar, Drouin and Warragul Golf Clubs all held their own events allowing everyday players to mix it up with the professionals.
Victorian professional Peter Wilson had a week to remember, claiming equal or outright victory in three of the four events.
Kicking things off at Garfield, more than 180 took to the course for the club's ever pro-am as Wilson took home the title by equalling the course record of 64, being five below par.
Local Tym Davey equalled Wilson's efforts to top the amateurs.
A strong field and near-perfect conditions combined to deliver an outstanding day of golf at the Trafalgar Pro-Am on Thursday, with two players finishing locked at the top of the leaderboard.
A field of 51 PGA professionals and more than 60 amateurs teed it up at Trafalgar Golf Club, which was commended by all for its conditions.
Wilson and West Australian Adam Hatch shared the honours after both carded impressive rounds of five-under-par 65s.
Hatch was first to post the leading score, setting the clubhouse mark during the morning session with a polished and controlled round. Wilson, playing in the afternoon, matched Hatch's effort to join him at the top of the leaderboard. Wilson continued a rich vein of form, backing up his victory at the Garfield pro-am the previous day with another composed performance. The Victorian again showed strong iron play and a reliable touch on the greens as he took advantage of the scoring opportunities on offer.
Trafalgar Golf Club president Chris Griffen thanked all those involved in making the event a success, including sponsors, the Australian PGA and the many volunteers who contributed their time and effort on the day, while also congratulating the winners on their performances.
Friday at Drouin saw 61 professionals and 157 amateurs in action where pro Charlie Robbins shot an eight under 64 in the morning session.
Not to be outdone, Wilson again showed his wares, matching Robbins' efforts to make it a three-peat.
Saturday's Warragul Pro-Am enjoyed capacity fields in both the morning and afternoon shotgun starts with Marcus Fraser coming out as king of the course, scoring a 63 - six under par.
Wilson, for his part, finished equal third on three under par.
