Warning to butt out

Smokers need to butt out properly. This is the warning from police after a paling fence caught fire in Warragul last week.
Police and CFA were called to the Crole Drv house at 4.45am on Tuesday morning when a timber paling fence along the back boundary of a residential property was on fire.
Police said there were two seats of fire and it appeared there were multiple cigarette butts that had not been properly extinguished and reignited in bark in a garden bed.
Police said it served as a warning to smokers to ensure their cigarette butts were definitely extinguished before leaving on the ground.
