An exhibition featuring the works of four Gippsland artists and one Melbourne-based artist will be on display at Warragul's WAS Gallery until November 19.
Titled "Still Objects", the exhibition includes a variety of works in different mediums and styles from Helen Anderson, Greg Follett, Julie Follett, Irene Proebsting and Julie Puchalski.
Helen Anderson and Greg Follett have contributed works painted in oils, and Mr Follett also has sculptural assemblages. Julie Follett has created digital prints as well as mixed media assemblages, Irene Proebsting has a series of digital prints featured and Julie Puchalski has a large collection of acrylic paintings.
The group of collaborators enjoy meeting up for regular 'art weekends', where they experiment with various media including printmaking, painting, drawing, photography and collage. These art weekends, as well as visiting galleries and exhibiting in group shows, have formed a connection that has allow them to bounce ideas off each other and sometimes challenge boundaries. The resulting exhibition, Still Objects, is eclectic and thought-provoking.
Each Saturday one fo the five artists will be present at the exhibition from 11am to 3pm to meet with visitors and explain their work.
"Still Objects" which runs until November 19.
WAS Gallery is at 37 Latrobe Street. The exhibition is open Wednesday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm.
