Community members who want to help guide Baw Baw Shire Council decisions on the early years are being encouraged to step up.
Expressions of interest are now open for the Early Years Advisory Committee.
But, be quick - they close on Friday.
Baw Baw Shire mayor Annemarie McCabe said "it's a great opportunity to make a real difference".
The role of the advisory committee is to provide information and advice to council on early years matters.
This includes play spaces for children (indoor and outdoor); occasional care; all abilities facilities; playgroups; kindergartens; Indigenous early years literacy and health; and supporting development in the birth to three-year-old age bracket.
The committee must have a minimum of five members, with at least two councillor representatives and three to eight community members, selected based on their skills, equity, and diversity.
"Advisory committees like this one play a key role in shaping council's decision making to achieve the best outcomes for the community," Cr McCabe said.
"I encourage any community members who would like to help shape the future for Baw Baw's youngest residents to put their hand up and submit an expression of interest."
Email early.years@bawbawshire.vic.gov.au to apply. The submission should include a letter outlining why you wish to join the Early Years Advisory Committee and detail what skills or perspectives you can offer. Including a current resume is optional, but encouraged.
Expressions of interest will be accepted until Friday at 5pm.
