New year's offender chased
A burglar was chased after allegedly targeting a house in Thomas St, Drouin on new year’s day.

A burglar was chased after allegedly targeting a house in Thomas St, Drouin on new year’s day.
Police reported a person wearing all black entered the house via an unlocked front door between 12.35am and 12.45am, before being disturbed by the residents.
Police said the victim got into their car and chased the offender down the street.
Also in Thomas St on the same night, a resident was alerted to a potential burglar at about 12.45am.
Police allege the resident woke to a scratching sound at a rear door. Grabbing a torch, the resident discovered a male attempting to enter the house.
The offender was described as between 16 and 20-years-old and average height, with a pencil thin moustache.
In nearby Wood St, again on the same night, a 2009 Ford Territory was stolen between 11.45pm and 3.46am.
Police allege the offender removed keys from a hook in the kitchen of the address, before stealing the vehicle.
The vehicle was later recovered after crashing into a fence in Pedder St, Darnum.
In a separate incident, a “tricky ignition” has seemingly foiled a car theft in Midsummer Lane, Drouin.
The alleged incident occurred overnight on Saturday.
Police reported an offender gained access to the vehicle after keys had been left in the ignition.
However, they were unable to start the vehicle and it was found having only rolled a few metres down the driveway.
Anyone with information which may assist police investigations, is urged to contact Warragul police station on 5622 7111.
