A Mercedes Vito Van reported stolen from Drouin was later found after colliding with an embankment.
The owner reported the vehicle stolen to police at 9.20pm last Monday night. Police said the victim reported he had briefly left the van running in the driveway of his home in Wade St, Drouin while completing repairs.
At 9.28pm police received reports that a white Mercedes had been abandoned after colliding with an embankment in Gardner and Holman Rd, Drouin.
Police said no witnesses observed a person leaving the vehicle after the collision.
The Mercedes was towed from the scene and will be examined by police.
In an unrelated incident, a stolen 2011 Mercedes sedan was recovered by police in Albert St, Warragul on Wednesday.
The car had been reported stolen from an address in Albert Park after an aggravated burglary and was located at about 4am Wednesday morning.
Despite locating the vehicle, the car’s correct registration plate, UUW 888, is outstanding.
