A Warragul woman's search for a family heirloom she lost on a theatre trip to Melbourne has so far drawn a blank but she is hoping someone may have found it and is looking for the owner.
The engraved gold football medallion and chain was presented to Joy Vikas' grandfather, J.W. Wakely, for being judged "best back player" for a team at Lismore in northern New South Wales in 1910.
Ms Vikas had the medal and chain passed through the family for her keeping and was proud to wear it when she travelled by bus and train to Melbourne recently.
It was some time before she realised it had gone missing and has had no luck since "turning her house inside out" and reporting the loss to the rail and bus services, contacting police and the railways stations she attended on her trip and placed public advertisements.
She described the medallion and chain as something men wore with their "fob" watches that were tucked into a pocket at the front of a vest under a jacket.
Not surprisingly Ms Vikas is cursing wearing the watch when she travelled to the city but it still hoping someone may have picked it up.
She can be contacted on 0407 455 299.
