The Nilma-Darnum Junior Football Club is looking to make a triumphant return as they get back in business for season 2025.
Having been a notable absentee from the ranks of the junior clubs for some time, the Bombers are recruiting and raring to go as they hope to make a return to the Warragul and District Junior Football League.
The club is actively on the hunt for any kids eager to play footy and any coaches willing to give it a go in the red and black in the under 10, under 12 and under 14 age groups.
It's a development that comes largely off the back of the successful reintroduction of the club's under 16s and under 18 contingents over the past couple of seasons.
The Bombers were without either as recently as 2022 but have now been able to field full sides in both age groups, their under 16s even contending for finals this year.
The junior football club will aim to function as a separate body to the senior club, though the hope is that kids introduced to the Bombers family will continue playing with the senior sides in their later years.
Nilma Darnum Junior Football Club president Matt Price said plans for the junior club's reintroduction had been in the works since the beginning of the year.
"Part of it is the club's very strong numbers-wise at the moment," he said.
"We have a lot more people involved and especially a lot more families, it's been really good to see."
Mr Price added that Nilma Darnum was "really proud" of how they have rebuilt their under 16s and 18s sides over the past two years.
While the club still has boxes to tick in an official capacity, they are "pretty confident that we're going to get a team in."
Mr Price said that the Bombers were hoping to include more people in their family-oriented culture.
"The thing people always say is they feel so welcome. Everyone really embraces everyone," he said.
