The chair of the West Gippsland Healthcare Group Christine Holland will step down at the end of June.
Speaking at the group’s annual meeting last week Ms Holland said the end of the financial year would complete nine years of service to the board, the maximum period set down for directors of boards of state government bodies.
She leaves after steering the board’s operations - including the West Gippsland Hospital and aged care facilities at Trafalgar and Warragul - through the difficulties of the COVID-19 pandemic but also delighted that the state’s major political parties had pledged to build a new hospital for the region on a greenfield site at Drouin East.
Ms Holland had particular praise for the group’s staff and the support of the community.
She said she was humbled by the amount the community donated and continuing support for fundraising activities and appeals.
