Remembrance Day had special meaning at the Neerim cemetery last week with flags honouring local service men and women.
In a new initiative, Neerim District History and Heritage Group remembered and honoured the brave men and women who fought in all conflicts with a special display of flags at Neerim Cemetery.
NDH&HG members commemorated soldiers who served in World War I by placing an Australian flag at each grave of returned soldiers or those lost in action who are buried at the Neerim Cemetery. The flags remained at the graves throughout the week.
Descendants of service men and women also were able to place a flag at the grave of their family member.
The Australian flags were supplied by Member for Narracan Wayne Farnham.
